Grandma and Lemons
Grandma LOVED the lemons from the tree in front of our condo. I would pick the lemons from our tree and mail them to her. I remember thinking, this seems silly, it is kind of expensive to send these big lemons in the mail...I don't think I am supposed to be shipping fruit in the mail...and people must think I am so weird...Grandma can buy them in the store. Our lemons are different though and just thinking of how happy they would make Grandma = this makes perfect sense. She would get sooooo excited after getting them : ) She would always tell me that she would have ice water with lemon and make lemon pie -- she would even share a few if her shipment was large enough. Not long after Grandma passed I was walking by our lemon tree one night and a lemon dropped to the ground out of the blue. I know it was Grandma saying hello.
